On October 29 at 12:00 PM, an online session on Zoom dedicated to choosing the right reporting framework and preparing for mandatory and voluntary sustainability reporting.
Preparing for reporting obligations, responding to requests from clients and banks, and developing a more accurate understanding of an organisation’s impacts: sustainability reporting can address different needs, requiring tools and approaches proportionate to the characteristics of each organisation. These topics will be explored during the webinar “The Right Report for Your Business. New ESRS and Voluntary Standard: How to Choose and Prepare”, organised by Amapola on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 12:00 PM on Zoom.

The event is free of charge and open to anyone interested, subject to registration. It will provide practical guidance and concrete examples to help participants navigate the revised ESRS and the Voluntary Standard (VS), the evolution of the VSME. Speakers will include Giulia Devani, Head of Sustainability Strategy and Reporting at Amapola, with Micol Burighel, Head of Communication, moderating the session.
Different Tools for Different Needs
The evolution of the European regulatory framework raises a key question: which approach enables a company to collect reliable information and use it effectively? The answer depends not only on the regulatory perimeter, but also on the company’s objectives, the audiences the report is intended for and the maturity of its internal processes.
The webinar will explore the characteristics and target organisations of the two European frameworks. With regard to the revised ESRS, the discussion will also focus on preparing for reporting and on the role of the double materiality assessment, which considers both a company’s impacts on people and the environment and the sustainability-related risks and opportunities affecting the company itself.
The Voluntary Standard will instead be examined as a proportionate tool for organisations that are not subject to mandatory reporting requirements, with a scope extending beyond SMEs alone. The session will also explore opportunities to supplement the information required by the VS with additional insights where a company’s activities or material topics call for a more comprehensive representation.
Upcoming Obligations and Supply Chain Requests
Part of the session will focus on companies that will be required to report from 2028, with reference to the 2027 financial year, and on the activities that should be started in advance. At the same time, the webinar will explore the value of voluntary reporting for companies receiving ESG information requests from clients, industrial partners and financial institutions.
This is also where the value chain cap comes into play: a safeguard limiting the information that can be requested from companies within the value chain. The webinar will explain its purpose and its relationship with the VS, providing useful guidance on how to manage information requests across supply chains.
The aim is to support companies in developing reporting that is useful for planning, management and stakeholder relations, while building a method that can become more established and evolve over time alongside the organisation’s sustainability journey.
The webinar is aimed both at companies approaching sustainability reporting for the first time and at those wishing to update an approach they have already begun to develop. A Q&A session will be held at the end of the event.
