Human Foundation is a private research organisation that promotes innovative solutions to growing social needs. It promotes collaboration between businesses, public administration, social enterprises, foundations, public and private investors, economic operators and the world of finance to spread the culture of social innovation, measurement and impact finance.

HF coordinated the Italian Advisory Board of the Social Impact Investment Task Force set up within the G8 framework, which produced the report “Finance that Includes”. It also promoted the birth of Social Impact Agenda for Italy, the network that brings together Italian impact investment operators. It contributed to the birth of Social Value Italia, the Italian hub of Social Value International, a network created to promote social impact assessment in our country.

Within its areas of intervention, it designs and applies social impact measurement methodologies and co-designs new social intervention models, building models for assessing the positive social impact generated. It uses a wide range of evaluation tools, both qualitative and quantitative, based on the Theory of Change, also employing experimental and quasi-experimental methods. It works to develop resource delivery systems based on evidence of social outcomes. It is among the evaluating bodies recognised by the Child Educational Poverty Fund.

It supports stakeholders’ competences through the development and delivery of competence-building pathways, accompanying enterprises in the definition of impact-oriented business models and PA in the adoption of intervention models based on co-design and multi-stakeholder partnerships.
