ISAIA – Innovation and Development for Associations through Artificial Intelligence was created with the aim of reducing the digital divide that often limits innovation in the Third Sector and of fostering access to technological skills, particularly in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

The project is implemented by Volontariato Torino ETS and funded by the Turin Chamber of Commerce, and will conclude on September 30, 2026. During these first months of activity, an initial collaboration has been established with the Department of Computer Science of the University of Turin, in particular with MagIA, the Artificial Intelligence magazine promoted by the department.

Project actions

Through a participatory and educational approach, ISAIA seeks to make organizations more aware, autonomous, and efficient in their use of digital tools, promoting a positive and lasting impact on the local community.

The programme is structured around three main lines of action:

  • Mapping and engagement of local organizations, with particular attention to young people with advanced digital skills who can act as “ambassadors” and facilitators of the project.

  • A training course tailored to the initial skills and knowledge levels of Third Sector Organizations (TSOs).

  • Organization of a Social Hackathon aimed at developing one or more innovative tools that respond to the digital needs of TSOs.

A tangible impact on the local community

Expected outcomes include:

  • TSOs better prepared to use AI;

  • young people trained and actively involved as technological facilitators;

  • more accessible services and a more connected community.

The project will also strengthen collaboration among local stakeholders and enhance the capacity of the Third Sector to address digital challenges, fostering a culture of ethical and inclusive innovation.
