Sumisura is a cooperative society founded in 2007, which works on urban regeneration and local development projects. Sumisura is made up of architects and social workers who work together, mixing their different skills.

Sumisura works on mediation activity (facilitating relations between public authorities and civil society), social and environmental sustainability, local and permanent presence (our territorial presence constantly accompanies the whole process – this allows to have a constant feedback of the effect of actions taken).

In 2014 Sumisura created Via Baltea, a community hub, or “neighbourhood workshop” – a hybrid space functioning both as socio-cultural service and as workspace for craftsmen and artists.

A former printing house of 900 square meters where today there are: a social café and vegetarian restaurant, a community kitchen, a carpentry workshop, a co-working office, a large room for activities and courses, a bakery specialized in products with sourdough, the  Jazz School Turin and a space for theater.

In Via Baltea coexist businesses and social and cultural activities which promote quality goods and relations. They support activities oriented to the citizenry, with specific focus on social cohesiveness, work, network building, a quality cultural offer, recycling and self-repair.
