Stranaidea is a social cooperative based in Turin, founded in 1986. For more than 40 years, it has worked to promote social inclusion, rights and participation, pursuing the interests of people and communities in Piedmont, with strong roots in the City of Turin, the Lanzo Valleys and the Canavese area.
It is a multi-purpose social cooperative: it integrates type A services, directly addressed to people and their life paths, and type B services, focused on the work inclusion and reintegration of people in vulnerable conditions through activities that are useful to the community. This dual nature allows Stranaidea to connect local welfare, work, environmental sustainability and community development.

Stranaidea works in particular on:
  • personal care services, with educational, social, psychological, housing and autonomy-support interventions;
  • work inclusion and territorial services, through environmental, maintenance and care activities for shared spaces;
  • culture, social theatre and participation, through Sbalzi, Stranaidea’s cultural sector;
  • European projects and training, with a focus on skills, mobility and exchange between communities.
Through its personal care services, Stranaidea supports people with disabilities and mental health issues, children, young people, families, adults facing difficulties, migrants and homeless people. It offers psychological and school support, educational guidance, pathways towards work and housing autonomy, and spaces for expression, socialisation and participation.
Through its environmental and territorial services, Stranaidea develops work inclusion pathways through jobs that are useful to the community: maintenance of public and private green areas, separate waste collection in recycling centres and local markets, cemetery services, custody and maintenance of public and private spaces. In this way, work becomes a tool for autonomy, recognition and the creation of value for the local area.
The cooperative brings together more than 360 people, including members and workers. Its activities combine educational, social, environmental, cultural and organisational skills, building collaborations with public bodies, companies, schools, foundations, Third Sector networks and local communities.
Through Sbalzi – Culture in relief, Stranaidea promotes social theatre, artistic workshops, participatory formats, training paths and interactive installations, recognising art and culture as transformative experiences for people, organisations and communities. Since 2007, it has been accredited for the European Solidarity Corps.
Stranaidea adopts an Integrated Management System with ISO 9001:2015ISO 14001:2015ISO 45001:2018 and UNI/PdR 125:2022 Gender Equality certifications.
Stranaidea’s model places community wellbeing and each person’s uniqueness at the centre, integrating social generativity, capabilities, participation and responsibility. The cooperative aligns its work with the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda: quality education, reduced inequalities, and responsible consumption and production.
