The Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino (OFT) is a non-profit association that has been producing classical music concerts for over thirty years, alongside cultural, educational and audience engagement projects across the local community.
Alongside its concert season, OFT pays particular attention to new generations, through music outreach activities in schools, opportunities for encounter and participation (such as Periscopio, a group of young people under 25 who follow the season with the Orchestra) and programmes for young musicians and performing arts professionals. The Orchestra also works to broaden and diversify its audiences, bringing music to different contexts and places (from open rehearsals in the Barriera di Milano neighbourhood to the Officina series at the Mirafiori Nord community centre, with an accessible pricing policy) and developing partnerships with cultural, educational and social organisations in the city of Turin.
Training and professional development are another core element: OFT offers young musicians the opportunity to gain experience within a professional orchestral setting and fosters exchange between education, artistic production and the world of work, also in collaboration with Conservatories.
Through music, OFT thus builds connections between culture, education, young people and the local community, placing its artistic and organisational expertise at the service of broader and more accessible cultural participation.
