ICO Impresa Socialer was established in 2022 with the aim of promoting social, cultural and educational projects within the former Olivetti factories in Ivrea (Turin), now part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Ivrea, Industrial City of the 20th Century”. In developing its activities, ICO places particular emphasis on participation and the active involvement of communities, fostering interdisciplinarity and widespread cultural engagement. Our approach is strongly rooted in a collaborative culture, openness to external partnerships and the generation of social impact.

In summary, ICO pursues the following objectives:

  1. to foster the inclusion of vulnerable people and place at the centre the many organisations seeking opportunities to grow and strengthen their capacity;
  2. to produce culture by encouraging experimentation with different forms of expression and participatory processes;
  3. to empower local stakeholders, partner organisations and young professionals by providing training opportunities and spaces for dialogue, exchange and mutual learning;
  4. to promote innovation in order to respond to the profound changes affecting our society;
  5. to generate forms of social economy by encouraging new approaches to enterprise, work and development.

This vision of a shared space draws inspiration from a renewed interpretation of the “concrete community” envisioned by Adriano Olivetti, and seeks to explore the pathways and practices of a new ecosystem in which entrepreneurship, personal growth, social impact and the development of new cultural and creative industries can find a sustainable balance.
