Cooperativa Sociale Educazione Progetto (EduPro) promotes social development and active citizenship through participatory, shared design, placing the value of local resources and community ties at the centre of its work.
The cooperative believes that valuing individual capacities and democratic participation are essential conditions for building more inclusive territories, able to respond to their own needs. EduPro’s work is organised into five areas: education services for children aged 0-6, minors and families, youth and participation, adults and inclusion, and community welfare and is carried out through a dense network of relationships with public bodies, schools, local services and other third-sector organisations. Project design, a function that cuts across all sectors, guides the search for funding starting from the concrete needs identified in the territories.
EduPro was founded in Turin in the late 1970s by a group of young student teachers, who set out to explore new ways of responding to children’s needs and supporting families. In 1983 the organisation formally became a Centre for Social and Psycho-pedagogical Research; in 2004 it took on the status of social cooperative. Over time it has consolidated its presence across the Turin metropolitan area, with a particular base in Moncalieri and activities spread across numerous neighbouring municipalities.
Education, care for relationships and community development have always been the pillars of EduPro’s work. Services aimed at children, families, young people and adults in vulnerable conditions allow people to be accompanied through their own paths of growth and autonomy, in an ongoing dialogue between generations and territories. In a context marked by growing inequality and new forms of social and economic vulnerability, EduPro directs its choices not only toward managing services, but toward building integrated, sustainable responses capable of strengthening cohesion in the communities where it operates.
