FondazioneOz has its roots in the CasaOz association, founded in Turin in 2007 to welcome children and families whose daily lives had been suddenly disrupted by illness, offering them a place to rediscover relationships, activities and a sense of normality. In 2024 the organisation became FondazioneOz, with the aim of promoting social innovation projects that respond to people living in fragile circumstances, and of further developing the work of CasaOz and MagazziniOz through a network of institutions, foundations, companies, professionals and private supporters.

At the heart of its mission is the idea of “Quotidianità che Cura” (Everyday Life Heals): the belief that the simplest gestures of daily life, such as sharing a meal, studying, playing or meeting others, can become concrete tools for well-being, autonomy and inclusion. The name Oz recalls Dorothy’s story in the “Wizard of Oz”: like her, many families find themselves suddenly thrown into a “new world” by illness or other events. CasaOz offers them a place where they can feel at home and rebuild, day by day, a possible everyday life.

On 23 September 2026, the opening of the Molino di CasaOz marked a new stage in this journey. The historic Cavoretto mill, restored and given back to the city, now extends CasaOz’s spaces and activities: together, the two buildings form a single place of about 2,000 square metres, surrounded by around 4,000 square metres of green space.
