According to Article 32 of the Italian Constitution, health is a fundamental right of every human being, essential for living a life of dignity. Camminare Insieme OdV was established in Turin in 1993 with the goal of ensuring full access to healthcare rights for everyone. Since then, it has become a vital resource for the city’s most vulnerable individuals, who turn to the association for social and health-related services.
The association provides free medical care through its Poliambulatorio, covering 34 different specialties and offering services from Monday to Saturday, thanks to the dedication of approximately 180 volunteers. In 2025, 2,729 new patients were registered, and 18,832 outpatient visits were conducted. The Maternal and Child Health Center focuses on health promotion and education—particularly regarding motherhood—by offering prenatal classes, support for breastfeeding and weaning, and the distribution of essential goods (such as medicines, infant formula, diapers, contraceptives, food, and hygiene products). Furthermore, the association conducts outreach for the homeless, operating within shelters in collaboration with the Municipality of Turin and local social services.
The activities are carried out in collaboration with public insistutions – notably the Municipality of Turin (Department of Social, Socio-Health, and Housing Services), the Local Health Authority (ASL) (for the administration of vaccines and through partnership agreements with family and pediatric counseling centers), and the University of Turin – as well as with private entities, particularly within the non-profit sector, such as the Migrant Pastoral Office of the Archdiocese of Turin, the Food Bank (Banco Alimentare), International Dental Cooperation (COI), and the Pharmaceutical Bank (Banco Farmaceutico) of Turin.
Since 2025, the President is Sergio Chiamparino, who is actively and daily committed to the mission of Camminare Insieme.
