Social Enterprises and their ecosystems in Europe
The European Commission has published a comparative summary that compares and analyzes the main results of 35 national reports (the countries considered are, in addition to the EU states, Albania, Iceland, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Norway, Serbia and Turkey), providing a general overview of social enterprises and the environments in which they operate.
The study will provide a useful contribution to the preparation of the next Action Plan on the social economy, that the European Commission intends to present in 2021.
The report is part of a study funded by the European Commission through the EaSI program and was coordinated by the EURICSE research center and the EMES network, involving over 70 academics and their home institutions.
The variety of traditions, public policies, legal and institutional contexts, as well as the most relevant trends and new opportunities and challenges across Europe have emerged.
