Needle is a non-governmental organization with an administrative office in Caluso and an operational base in Chivasso, promoting social inclusion, human rights, and sustainable development through projects active both in Italy and in the Global South.
Founded with the aim of “mending bonds” between people, territories, and cultures, Needle works in complex and marginalized contexts, activating processes of participation, empowerment, and social innovation.
Our Mission
Needle works to build fairer, more inclusive, and more resilient communities, where every person can live with dignity and actively contribute to their own future.
We are committed to promoting the self-determination of individuals and groups, strengthening local skills and generating sustainable solutions through dialogue between knowledge systems, territories, and experiences.
Needle in South Sudan
In South Sudan, Needle is engaged in programs that address post-conflict vulnerabilities and inequalities in access to essential resources such as education, healthcare, and participation.
We work alongside local communities to:
-
Promote inclusive, quality education, particularly for girls and young women
-
Strengthen youth leadership and civic engagement
-
Support peace education, coexistence, and community resilience
-
Implement vocational training and sustainable local development projects
We operate with a participatory and intercultural approach, valuing local skills, community mediation, and existing networks.
Needle in Italy
At the same time, Needle carries out social innovation initiatives in Italy, particularly in Turin, focusing on social inclusion and active citizenship.
We build bridges between people and territories through collaborative practices, non-formal education, and cultural projects.
Our Vision
We believe in an interconnected world, where solidarity knows no borders and global challenges can only be addressed through shared responses rooted in local contexts.
Needle is the thread that stitches together stories and possibilities, from Africa to Europe.
