The increasingly profound and sudden impacts in every context produced by major changes – such as those generated by pandemics, war, energy crises, rising raw material prices, barriers to free trade between nations, ageing populations, growing inequalities, the spread of disruptive new technologies, etc. – require us to adopt new mindsets, nurture new knowledge and build new skills. Every day, we receive stimuli about these transformations taking place in society (and in the markets) and about the resulting hypothetical future developments. Therefore, we need to integrate strategic, innovation, leadership and communication skills with vision, systemic thinking, experimental agility and interconnection.
Professions that were once very “vertical” now find themselves having to update in order to fit into a context of transformation. We need knowledge about the nature and dynamics of transformative forces (global megatrends, industry trends) and about emerging phenomena and weak signals. Through the application of foresight methods, it is possible to reflect on implications and possible scenarios and related action strategies towards customers, users, suppliers and partners, externally, and towards people, teams and organisations, within the internal ecosystem.

Forwardto – Studi e competenze per scenari futuri is a non-profit organisation established in Turin at the end of 2019, in collaboration with university researchers and professionals from various fields. The group has extensive experience in applied research and impactful innovation, and specialises in exploring future scenarios to design/reconfigure strategic visions and roadmaps in the present and trigger transformative processes in the near future. The Forwardto team also draws on the contribution of its Scientific Committee, made up of professors and academics from various disciplines (strategy and management, innovation, urban planning, design, engineering, marketing, semiotics, psychology, sociology, anthropology). What we do:

  • in collaboration with research centres and universities, we carry out predictive studies on future scenarios for sectors, territories and social contexts;
  • we conduct training courses to activate future thinking and foresight mindsets and nurture “future skills” (trend and signal analysis, imagination and strategic vision, innovation and transformative leadership);
  • we support management teams and strategic functions (R&D, innovation, HR, IT, marketing, sales) in non-profit organisations, public administrations and businesses in processes aimed at shaping forward-looking strategies and roadmaps for the near future.

In summary, we help individuals, groups, organisations and communities to manage complexity and uncertainty in order to trigger transformative processes with an awareness of possible futures, with the aim of giving meaning to present choices and actions.
