The Animazione & Territorio Cooperative was founded in December 2001 by founding members with previous experience in social cooperation, with the aim of focusing its activities on animation initiatives designed to prevent social distress.

The cooperative’s goal is to develop projects within public social welfare policies that leverage and enhance the specific technical skills of its members (or external specialists).

Its purpose is to create opportunities for socialization as well as for the transmission and sharing of skills with different audiences, viewing cultural activities as tools for overcoming deviance.

This approach has already found multiple application areas, combining two main skill sets of the members: the relational approach, tied to educational and animation skills gained through social and educational work, and expressive techniques (theatre, juggling, stilt walking, material manipulation, video production, music, multimedia, storytelling and fairy tales, crafts, etc.).

In 2022, the cooperative absorbed all the activities of Cooperativa Pietra Alta Servizi, a social enterprise and non-profit social cooperative focused on promoting, designing, and managing social-health, educational, recreational, and cultural services, aimed at preventing and mitigating the risks and effects of social exclusion and distress.
