Si Può Fare ONLUS is a Social Promotion Association founded in 2012 with the aim of promoting the integration of people with intellectual disabilities, supporting the development of personal, work, and housing autonomy. Its social mission focuses on designing pathways that help people with disabilities become aware of their rights and responsibilities as adults, working on multiple aspects of personal growth: recognizing adulthood, building the skills necessary for independence, and preparing parents to support their child’s development.

The Association supports people with intellectual disabilities aged 16 to 35 throughout their life path, from youth to adulthood, focusing on the following objectives: promoting independent living and employment; fostering social integration and awareness; improving relational skills; and supporting the maintenance of acquired independence.

Since 2019, Si Può Fare has expanded its target audience to include people in vulnerable situations or at risk of social and economic exclusion: unaccompanied foreign minors, adults with a migrant background, youth and NEET young people, women experiencing psycho-social and economic hardship, transgender people, detainees/former detainees, and individuals serving alternative sentences.

In all its initiatives, the organization implements the Independent Living methodology, an approach that places the person at the center and, starting from each individual’s characteristics, abilities, experiences, aspirations, and needs, co-designs short-, medium-, and long-term life plans aimed at achieving personal and professional autonomy. This method considers the main aspects of a person’s daily life—housing, work, education, and socialization—and adapts them to the specific vulnerabilities and needs of the beneficiaries, creating targeted and effective initiatives.
