Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica PROGETTO SPORT DI BORGATA has been managing the municipal multi-sports facility since 1997. The association is affiliated with the sports promotion body UISP.

The SDB Association stems from the “Sport di Borgata” project, presented in 1987 to the Comune di Torino out of the need to elevate organized sports through courses, amateur activities, and sports animation aimed at children, schools, and young people by sports clubs in various areas of the city. Many sports executives have gone through the “ASD Progetto Sport di Borgata” training courses, which aim to enhance the socializing, formative, educational, and social recovery aspects of sports, in addition to the role of coaches, executives, instructors, and technicians. It is precisely the history of the “ASD Progetto Sport di Borgata” project that motivated the city’s choice to assign a place for the project’s concrete realization: the Centro Polisportivo Massari. The Impianto Massari consists of a swimming pool, three gyms, an ice arena, a children’s play area, a playroom, spaces used as meeting rooms and laboratories, as well as an educational vegetable garden and a movement garden.

Following the 2006 Winter Olympics, the ice skating rink was covered with a new, modern sports structure inside it: the Palaghiaccio Massari. Thanks to this important opportunity provided by the Comune di Torino, since 2006 the ice arena has become a point of attraction, meeting, and entertainment for all age groups, but especially for children, teenagers, and young adults.

The “ASD Progetto Sport di Borgata” association aims to promote social well-being through sports for everyone, intended as a means of aggregation and education. The association pursues this goal starting from the initiatives carried out in the Massari multi-sports space, reaching the reference territory of districts 5, 6, and 7 of the Comune di Torino, Venaria, Settimo Torinese, Borgaro Torinese, and San Mauro, addressing in particular families and all citizens of any age, country of origin, social condition, and ability.

“ASD Progetto Sport di Borgata” proposes high-quality sports, the result of sports and associative experience, competence, continuous updating, and territorial animation activities that aim to stimulate the active participation of young people and citizens through the testing of new processes of social involvement.

The association is open to project contributions from its members and all those who collaborate in the growth of the “ASD Progetto Sport di Borgata” project, and it uses training and information to spread the idea of movement and sports as a means to make the community healthier, more cohesive, and more confident.
