The Project

Progetto Impresa Accogliente was created — promoted by the association La goccia di Lucia Mina and Don Bernardino Reinero (abbreviated to La goccia di Lube) — is a trademark brand attributed to all those entrepreneurial activities (from cooperatives to joint-stock companies) that offer employment opportunities, through internships or contracts, to people who are completing their sentences or have completed their sentences with so-called alternative measures to prison (detenzione domiciliare, affidamento in prova al servizio sociale, semilibertà) .

Businesses that distinguish themselves for this inclusive approach receive the “Impresa Accogliente” label from La goccia di Lube and are included in the register of the same name. In recent years, a sense of social responsibility has grown in the business world, as demonstrated by the success of ESG (Environmental Social Governance) certificates, DE&I (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) discussions, and entrepreneurial initiatives in Brand Activism.

The 2026 Manifesto

THE VALUE OF THE COMPANY

The primary social value of a business is its existence and its ability to successfully execute the entrepreneurial idea that underpins it. This is its fundamental ethical nature. Indeed, any business activity, if it is true to itself and to the vision for which it was founded—producing goods or services—can have a positive impact on the local area and society in which it operates. This is evident from the fact that a business, if it thrives economically, generates wealth and provides jobs for the human community to achieve its goals.

This intrinsic mission is complemented by a series of ways in which it is implemented: with transparent and honest administrative action, with respect for the environment and the territory, but above all with the full valorization of its collaborators and suppliers, promoting collective well-being.

AN INCLUSIVE IMPACT

A company’s positive impact on society is also achieved when it achieves its goals by being sustainable in its operations and when, at the same time, it is inclusive of vulnerable or disadvantaged people by seeking to take advantage of their professional skills. This category of people also includes those who—having committed more or less serious, more or less reprehensible, errors against the civil community—are finishing or have just finished paying their dues to the justice system and wish to return to the community, redeeming themselves through their own work. Every person is not simply their own mistakes and is entitled to acts of faith that allow them to once again become a positive factor in society.

THE PHENOMENON OF ALTERNATIVE MEASURES TO PRISON

The Project seeks employment and training primarily for individuals serving time outside prison, reported by the UEPE (Office for External Penal Enforcement) and for young adults under observation by the USSM (Social Services Office for Minors, on behalf of CGM, the Juvenile Justice Center). There is little awareness of this phenomenon in society and the political world. Indeed, considering adults alone, those serving time under alternative measures in Italy outnumber those incarcerated in penitentiaries. Unfortunately, the focus is largely on interventions for prisoners. However, understanding that this other group of people exists that needs support—people already living among us, outside of prison—can help solve the problem of social reintegration for those who have wronged others and society. These are individuals who, if supported in their search for employment, can redeem themselves and even resist the temptation to reoffend.

INCENTIVES FOR WELCOMING BUSINESSES

Progetto Impresa Accogliente supports these individuals and helps them find employment with inclusive companies. This vision and willingness to sign contracts or internships also allows them to benefit from incentives and tax and social security benefits provided by public regulations or private initiatives. To this end, Progetto Impresa Accogliente has established a related Work Grants Project named after Maria Teresa Pichetto (primarily funded by the Giovanni and Annamaria Cottino Foundation), which promotes short-term internships, which are advantageous in terms of both financial and timeframe, for both the worker and the company.
